S popularity has made Betty Neels the top selling Harleuin Romance author of all time with her earlier novels in greater demand than ever These four novels available for the first time in retail will be cherished among readers and collectors ali This novel did not work for me and I doubt I'll ever read this author in my life again because she only writes about these very plain looking downtrodden heroines Downtrodden is a horrible plight but to add plain looks to the deal just depresses me and I don't read romance novels to be depressed I remembered really trying to appreciate this novel when I read it a LONG time ago Seriously I really told myself that I should be less superficial and open my mind to the wonders of what others call true romance where beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that kind of stuff Unfortunately I didn't get that warm happy feeling while reading this novel This was torture because there was the beautiful awful evil OW who kept insulting the plain heroine and doing all sorts of shit to her to make her look bad in the eyes of the H I can deal with a cy bitch OW being very evil to a heroine but it is PAINFUL to read when the poor heroine isn't even pretty and feels a million times insecure because the evil bitch is beautiful I know there's this wonderful moral to a romance like this but this just makes me cuss than I already do and I don't really need to be cussing while I'm reading I could have also written some other reason to explain my low rating for this novel but I figured it would be very hypocritical of me I may be superficial at times but I try not to be hypocritical I guess the only good thing I saw in this novel was that the evil bitch OW still didn't get the H in the end Au croisement des cultures de droit occidentale et musulmane: Le pluralisme juridique dans le code tunisien des obligations et des contrats popularity has made Betty Neels the top selling Harleuin Romance author of all time with her earlier novels in greater demand than ever These four novels available for the first time in retail will be cherished among readers and collectors ali This novel did not work for me and I doubt I'll ever read this author in my life again because she only writes about these very Mariage et liberté: Étude comparative entre le droit français, tunisien et musulman plain looking downtrodden heroines Downtrodden is a horrible FIGARO (LE) [No 4167] du 29/01/1958 - anastasia, grande-duchesse ou aventuriere par aucleres - loi-cadre algerie adoptee en seconde lecture a l'assemblee par gabilly le droit de greve et la fonction publique hebergement par ravon la citrouille , satellite de l'armee us serait lancee cette semaine par sauvage operations de police chez les etudiants musulmans de paris important jaillissement de petrole dansle sahara oriental - une ombre par guehenno conference du pacte de bagdad jacques guerard plight but to add Droit musulman : du statut personnel et des successions d'après les différents rites, (Éd.1895) plain looks to the deal just depresses me and I don't read romance novels to be depressed I remembered really trying to appreciate this novel when I read it a LONG time ago Seriously I really told myself that I should be less superficial and open my mind to the wonders of what others call true romance where beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that kind of stuff Unfortunately I didn't get that warm happy feeling while reading this novel This was torture because there was the beautiful awful evil OW who kept insulting the Droit musulman - Des successions: D'après les différents rites, et plus particulièrement d'après le rite hanafite plain heroine and doing all sorts of shit to her to make her look bad in the eyes of the H I can deal with a cy bitch OW being very evil to a heroine but it is PAINFUL to read when the Ramadan rariq - Les musulmans dans la laïcité responsabilités et droits des musulmans dans les sociétés occidentales deuxième édition poor heroine isn't even Contingency in a Sacred Law: Legal and Ethical Norms in the Muslim Fiqh pretty and feels a million times insecure because the evil bitch is beautiful I know there's this wonderful moral to a romance like this but this just makes me cuss than I already do and I don't really need to be cussing while I'm reading I could have also written some other reason to explain my low rating for this novel but I figured it would be very hypocritical of me I may be superficial at times but I try not to be hypocritical I guess the only good thing I saw in this novel was that the evil bitch OW still didn't get the H in the end

Rown into his company Eloise soon realized that she loved him But Timon was going to marry the beautiful Liske so why would he look twice at EloiseBetty Neels She is renowned around the globe for sweet stories in which love triumphs over all Thi Our PBN to Holland on a mission of mercy as nursecompanion to her mother's friend with terminal cancer poor Mevrouw Plot Device I mean Pringle; A self described ordinary girl tall and shapely but rather plain; soon finds herself in love with her very own RDD whom she meets when she drops a pineapple a gift from a patient and it rolls onto his footDoctor Timon van ZeilstThe typical RDD tall with very broad shoulders very good looking with fair hair and commanding features; Calls our heroine Pineapple Girl due to their meeting; keeps his thoughts to himself and thinks very little of female drivers except for Eloise whom he allows to drive his RollsThere is a very touching scene at Timon's house at a dinnerwho is a friend of the Pringles as well as Mrs Pringle's doctor when Eloise finds Bart Timon's butler in some distress She asks if she can help or tell Doctor van Zeilst Bart replies the doctor must not know but of course he has overheard and Bart is convinced tell all They speak Dutch so Eloise is in the dark except that she knows Liske Timon's apparent girlfriend said something hurtful to Bart Bart is grateful to Eloise for her intervention and according to Timon will be devoted to her for lifeMrs Pringle only lives a couple of weeks after Eloise arrives in Holland Her mother over to attend the funeral breaks the news that she is engaged They return to England for the wedding and Eloise prepares to forget Timon and get on with her career by applying for a Sister's post Trip to Holland part 2 Of course romance cannot blossom with the North Sea between them so Timon arrives in London and begs Eloise to come back and stay with the depressed grief stricken Minjheer Side Note All fans of Betty Neels enjoy her lovely descriptions of food cars scenery and fashion TGB truly waxes rhapsodic over a dinner at Timon’s house “Would she ever forget the salmon mousse the roast pheasant the great silver dishes of vegetables the sauces Nor for that matter would she fail to recall the luscious bombe glacé which followed them” Pure awesomenessAfter the aforementioned dinner Eloise is left alone for a few minutes and in walks Liske Now we know or suspect that Timon has just that day broken off their relationship hints include this remark by Timon “Do you know I have very nearly made the biggest mistake of my life Pineapple Girl Now I have to put it right” Anyway Liske comes in and proceeds to berate Eloise for taking Timon away from her and calls her a harpy and a “designing trollop” Eloise dishes it right back calling Liske a fool and telling her she is a “petty selfish girl you deserve nothing and no one because I don’t think you have any idea what loving means You’re something under a stone” at which point Timon walks in Liske falls all over him and tells him that Eloise was mean to her yada yada yada uite unfairly in Eloise’s view Timon tells her “You could have waited Eloise; I would have explained for I have a great deal to tell you Could you not have been generous” Like our girl is supposed to read his mind She doesn’t know she’s the heroine in the scene Anyway Eloise runs out into the stormy night; Timon comes after her and hurries her into pa ramshackle cottage For any romance author other than Ms Neels this is the perfect setting for a seduction You know “Darling get out of those wet clothes while I build up a fire” and romantic hijinks ensue Alas nothing of the kind happens – they uarrel and Eloise minus only her coat scarf shoes and stockings goes to sleep The storm dies down and they start back to the house with Eloise crying all the way thinking she will be unnoticed due to the wind Of course that was a futile thought; Timon asks her why she is crying then says “Tomorrow we will have a talk There is a great deal I have to say to you You must see that being cruel to Liske was impossible I have been cruel enough already” and kisses her This is than Eloise can take She sneaks out and returns to England back to her hospital and immediately uits her job The wily Matron knows something is afoot and suggests a temporary position at a boys’ school in a remote part of Cumbria So Eloise is off immediately intending to hide from Timon forever While at the school Eloise goes out onto a ledge to rescue a young bullied student; Timon arrives and saves her and the boy Almost immediate Declaration followed by a uick trip to a nearby church to get married and the HEAI know TUJB for which I have the greatest respect gives this book a Madeira cake rating For once I must disagree I like this one a lot mostly because Eloise is a girl with backbone Yes she runs away but in this case is uite justified IMHO She is kind incident with Bart; she stands up to Lying Liske although I could do better than to call her something from under a stone – “you dirty lying bitch you’ll get yours” comes to mind This is one time the RDD doesn’t deserve the PBNOh yes and the food descriptions TGB outdid herself in this one
