And was a successful ambassador of India's spiritual side to the westSwami Vivekananda was also a mystic who traveled extensively and on these journeys which were no less than epiphanies to him he came face to face with the stark poverty of India which affected him deeply and defined him as a man It turned him into a champion of the cause of the poor and made him a role model philanthropistWe are all aware of these aspects of the Swami's life Nume. I am a disciple of Swami There is no one who inspired me shook my belief systems and guided me in the right direction as much as Swami Vivekananda did His fierce sermons on character strength nation building are the very building blocks of my life I have religiously looked up to him at every stage of my life and never was I rendered clueless whenever I did Swami Vivekananda is a God of a Man However this book brought me to a completely new and empowering realization In his brief stint of little less than 40 years as a human he constantly battled with privation abject poverty diseases which claimed his life and unlimited legal and psychological tribulations which followed him to his grave After knowing those heart rending details about his life as a man my devotion and respect for him have grown millionfold I have newfound respect and appreciation towards life in generalIf you are a follower of Swami Vivekananda if you respect him for the indefatigable personality that he is or if you ever read at least one of his innumerable uotes and are inspired by him do read this book The timelessness of Vivekananda doesn't come from his speeches and sermons which the world celebrates It comes from his humbling life and the never ending challenges he faced while performing his karma as India's spiritual ambassador to the world
