Fantastic follow up to Rule Breaker. More light hearted than the first book, with laugh out loud moments, this story still has its serious moments. This is so well written, the author has found the balance needed to take serious subjects, keep them serious but not over shadow the story. The story flows between the fun and humorous moments and the deep, introspective ones. Neither one taking you out of the story.

The story here picks up with Jude, last seen in Rule Breaker as Dylan’s model roommate, in the afterglow of a casual hookup with Dean. Flaky Dean, who has a few very lonely working brain cells. Everything is good, until the ceiling collapses and the upstairs bathtub comes to rest in the middle of Jude’s apartment. Needing a place to stay, Dean offers up his step brother’s house, telling Jude that he’d make the arrangements. Of course, this never happened, so Jude shows up to find a pink house and finds Asa in that pink house. Asa, the famous actor. And his son, Billy. The house is in slight chaos, Asa has lost his assistant and needs a new one. In exchange of a room, Jude will fill in. If he’s capable. Asa has dealt with models before; his hopes aren’t high. The building of the relationship begins here and slowly builds with every misconception, conversation and interaction. The banter between Jude and Asa has a little snark and is fun to read.

The cast of secondary characters is amazing. Billy is wonderful, at times seeming older than his years. as is Peggy. Amos is such a curmudgeon that he’s a hoot! Dylan and Gabe make an appearance here, and it was wonderful to see them again.

This is book number two in the series. It could be read as a standalone, but you’ll get much from the story by reading book one first. And actually, you want to do yourself a favor and read it. I loved it and you will too. This author has become an auto buy for me, she is that good.

What a wonderful sequel to "Rule Breaker," a smart, snarky book in which one of the MC's in this book, Jude, makes several important appearances and whose MCs Dylan and Gabe figure somewhat prominently in this one.

Jude (on the cover) is a widely respected international model and very well known as a one time hook up gay man. He somehow winds up in the household of Asa Jacobs, a 44 year old international movie and television star whose cultural claim to fame is that he identified himself as bisexual many years ago, and survived it.

That Asa takes an instant antagonism to Jude who shows up in his house after Asa's stepbrother and occasional hook up Dean arranges for his temporary residence because of serious damage to Jude's apartment is a bit mysterious at first. But as time goes on and as Jude manages to confuse Asa by taking on a job as his PA and having fun with it, things warm up a bit.

The warming part has almost everything to do with Asa's 5 year old son Billy, who turns out to be the key to this entire story. Around every corner, in each cubby hole, across every street and in every room, wherever Billy appears this book grabs your heart and twists it so much that it forces you to grin from ear to ear.

There are a ton of coincidences in this tale that sometimes cross purposes but all of them are delightful in one way or another. And the love story that develops between Asa and Jude, though filled with hesitation, rejection, and rescue, is sweet and rolls off the pages like honey on a scone.

This one is pure heaven. Get wings and fly.

Deal Maker was just absolutely ridiculously good. I loved it so so very much. It gave me the biggest happy reading it. Lily Morton's writing is so funny, clever, intelligent, and engrossing I had the hardest time putting it down. I actually read it in one day which was a little tough for me because I didn't start it until later in the day and ended up staying up well past bedtime. But I couldn't get enough of Asa and Jude. They stole my heart from the beginning and haven't let it go. This story was a riot of laughs all throughout but it was also heartwarming, endearing, and sexy. I loved Rule Breaker, the first book, but I loved and adored Deal Maker so hard. I absolutely recommend Deal Maker and then do yourself a favor and follow the link at the end of the book and read an extra little story featuring Jude and Asa and be prepared to have your heart melt into a gooey little puddle of all the feels for these two. If you're looking for a witty, smart, sexy, so many feels good time, then this is the book for that.

    5 stars!

“My Jude. My best friend, my lover and my heart.”

This book made me swoon! And I don't friggin swoon!!!

Jude is a reluctant model, working the career because it pays well. When his apartment gets flooded, he needs a place to stay other than the sex filled apartment of his best friend. A fellow model gives him a tip, leading Jude to actor Asa.

Asa loathes models, everything they stand for. So when he takes Jude in he makes it clear he thinks Jude is dumb and self involved because of his profession. So Jude decides to make it interesting and plays along, fully intending to make Asa's life hell..

“Everyone is entitled to love who they want, and people aren’t weird just because of who they love. No one is weird.

After really enjoying Rule Breaker last year, I knew I wanted to read Jude's story. And wow, personally I think Lily Morton outdid herself! While my tastes run toward angsty, I fell in love with this sweet and swoon worthy story. Jude and Asa were amazing together, I had a constant smile on my face when reading this book.

Lily Morton is an author I will be automatically one clicking in the future. If you love MM romance you need to start reading her books ASAP!

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

Book 1 was not a fluke! Gah! I'm loving this!! Brilliant series i know i'll re read time and time again!

Jude is Dylan from book one's best friend. He's now living on his own since Dylan moved out and is struggling with money. He's in lots of debr and his only aim in life is to make as much money as he can for his family. So he uses his looks to make it. Endless boring photo shoots take its toll on Jude but he has no choice and he hates that his looks are all people see. After an accident leaves his home inhabitable for a while he has no choice but to accept help and cheap accomodation from a hookups step brother.

Asa is a busy man. A single father to Billy and a successful actor he has no time or inclination for a relationship. Burned by the last one he will never again fall for a pretty air headed model. When a man turns up on his doorstep, sent by his annoying model step brother Asa knows he should turn him away. But something about Jude stops him and he reluctantly gives Jude a job and a place to stay.

I didn't think this would top book one but boy did it ever! Hilarious and sexy i bloody loved it!

Asa was burned and guarded but i just loved how Jude smashed his walls down! I loved their relationship and the connection they shared and young master Billy just stole my heart! Who doesn't love a hot single dad!

I loved Jude in book one and this just showed him in all his glory! So funny and sweet and loving and sexy and just all the things!

Loved the storyline it kept me turning those pages with lightening speed! I devoured this book! I can't get enough of this series! Its given me the biggest smiles!

Loved seeing Gabe and Dylan and i love this little group of friends being made in this series!

    Highly recommend!

The first time I fell in love, was when the nurse handed me a red faced, squalling baby and he opened his eyes and looked at me. The second time, was when I opened my study door and found a gorgeous, bright, cheeky man standing there, with a heart as abundantly big as the sky. My Jude. My best friend, my lover and my heart.

    I.LOVED.THIS.

I needed this book so bad. And I didn't even know it.

Jude is a model who is down on his luck and needs somewhere to live for the summer and by chance, through Dean (oh, bless him. Lol) Jude finds himself living with Actor Asa Jacobs and his son, Billy.

Asa doesn't come off great at the start, he makes assumptions (that Jude gets epic revenge for) and comes across as a jerk but man, soon enough he had me falling hard. He's a great father, his love is unconditional but he's also been hurt and struggles with trust.
Jude has his own struggles and convinces himself of what he deserves in life, ignoring what he wants in fear of hurting and being hurt. Jude is smart, thoughtful and loyal.

These two had me feeling all the feelings like they had the right to!!! There was a beautiful journey and pace to them and the growth of their relationship. Gah. I just fell in love with them so much. Ooh, and that chemistry between these two? Daaaang.

“Going to f[] you so good, Jude. F[] you so hard my name’s going to be burned in your throat.”

And then we have the star of the show: Billy. Omg that boy. I dare you not to fall in love with him.

“Daddy, I might have dropped the key in this hole, but it doesn’t matter. Accidents happen.”

Hilarious, fierce at times and just so damn lovable. He had me cackling out loud so many times with the things he said, how he delivered, how he just brought that beautiful child like innocence.

“Hooray,” he shouts, and then pauses. “Daddy says this is the nicest and best way that we can keep you, Jude.”
    “It certainly is.”

The three of these together is everything.
    Every.
    Thing.

There were things that irked me a little and the only reason this isn't getting full stars.
I LOVE groveling. That stuff is my jam. I live for those scenes but what led to them here didn't ring true for me, just felt off. Felt wrong.
Then there were just one or two things that I questioned, the choices didn't feel quite believable but I'll get over them because I loved the love in this book, how it grew over time but was unconditional and unmoving between all three. I really enjoyed the mention of Emmerdale/Coronation Street etc. And some other stuff like that. It rang through to its setting. (I'm Irish, but I still get the references 'cause they're here too)

Oh and THAT FREAKING EPILOGUE. UNGH.
My damn heart is in their hands.

This book was incredibly romantic and I loved it so much.
Also hilarious, between Billy being Billy and those letters, amazing. And Amos, I loved him as much as he hated happiness.

I'm kinda sad I didn't read book one now but so happy I gave this one a go and hope there's a book #3

    4.5 Stars

I only discovered Ms Morton after reading Rule Breaker and became an immediate fan. I could not wait to get my hands on this one. Loved it so much, I pulled an all nighter to read it.

I had no idea how Ms Morton was going to better the previous book, which is one of my picks for best book of 2017, but she did. She totally knocked it out of the ball park, or scored a six, as they say in my part of the world.

This book was beautifully written, Asa and Jude were both wonderfully empathetic. I absolutely fell in love with them. It has the right amount of banter, British humour and sarcasm, insanely hot sex, and two men who, for different reasons, avoided relationships.

Lily wrote the characters perfectly, their scenes together were funny, tender and, at times, as the book progressed, just sad. There's a scene near the end of the book, that very nearly had me sniffling 😩 On the other hand, the scenes between them in the first part of the book were really funny. And Billy!!! What a great rendition of a five year old. He reminded me of my kid when he was small, and had me laughing out loud at times. What a little love.

The humour in this story was different to that in Rule Breaker, but it didn't make the story any less enjoyable. The character and relationship development were very well done, I loved the family feel of this one. Asa, Jude and Billy together just worked, their scenes together were so awwww worthy and heart warming.

There isn't a great deal of angst in this, a slight misunderstanding near the end, but in no way did it feel manufactured. I did raise my eyebrows a little after I read it re the scene with Jude's ex, but the book was so great, I didn't think of it while I was reading, and it remains a teeny weeny niggle.

Already anticipating the next book, come on Henry 😊

I love this book. I love this book so much that I would buy a paperback version just so I would still have this book if all the electricity in the world goes and I can no longer charge my kindle I would still have this book. I love this book so much I would be hypnotised so I could no longer remember the book just so I could read it again anew you may have guessed but I love this book. I love the first in the series too, but this one has a cute kid, a puppy and a bloke with a beard so it edges forwards a bit, but still, buy this book, you won't regret it.
