A Paragon Matrix Switching Unit



The Raritan Paragon system is made up of three elements, a Matrix Switching Unit, a User Station and Computer Interface Modules (CIM).

These are all connected with standard CAT5 UTP cables. Connections can be via a single direct cable or through patch panels and structured cabling.


The Matrix Switching Units are available in the following user to cpu configurations, 2-42, 4-42, 8-32, 16-64. e.g. in the case of the 16-64, shown above, sixteen user consoles could be connected and each user would have full access to the sixty four computers via connected CIM's.


Additional computers can be added to the Matrix Switching Unit with 64 and 32 port Stacking Units. These connect via a single cable, so you do not lose the use of computer ports, as in cascaded solutions, saving you up to 16 ports and 32 cables per switch.


The CIM's can connect to PS/2, SUN, USB, Sun USB computers. They are connected back to the Matris Switching Unit with one CAT5 cable


Your keyboard, monitor and mouse connect to a User Station. You can connect PS/2, USB or Sun peripherals. The User Station is connected via CAT5 cable to a User port on the Matrix Switching Unit.
